Crossed spiral marks appear on the surface.
 
The reason for this trace is mainly due to the poor straightness and unevenness of the grinding wheel. During the crushing process, the grinding wheel is only partially in contact with the workpiece. When the workpiece or the grinding wheel reciprocates multiple times, the surface will reappear spiral shape and visible to the naked eye. The pitch of these spiral shapes is not parallel to the speed of the workpiece table, the speed of the workpiece and the grinding wheel axis and the table rail.
 
1. The main reason for forming the spiral
 
(1) The dressing of the grinding wheel is reduced, the four corners are not chamfered, and the coolant is not used for dressing;
 
(2 There is too much lubricating oil on the guide rail of the worktable, which causes the worktable to float;
 
(3) The precision of the machine tool is not excellent;
 
(4) Excessive grinding pressure.
 
2. The cause of the spiral
 
(1) The rigidity of the V-shaped guide rail is not right, the grinding wheel is offset during grinding, but the edge of the grinding wheel is in contact with the working surface;
 
(2) When the noisy grinding wheel is being repaired, the table commutation speed is unstable, the accuracy is not high, and the edge of the grinding wheel is slightly worse;
 
(3) The rigidity of the workpiece itself is poor;
 
(4) The grinding wheel breaks, the flaking sand particles fall off, and iron filings generated by grinding the workpiece accumulate on the grinding wheel's surface. Therefore, the repaired grinding wheel should be washed or cleaned with cooling water;
 
(5) The dressing of the grinding wheel is not right, and there are local protrusions.
